Doing Protein Business With Dot

Code Date Policy

All product listed on our Dot Expressway is classified as normal inventory.  This means that the product will have acceptable age by industry standards. The industry uses a “number of days past production” as the standard.  Products don’t really “expire”.  At a certain point some may have to be frozen, but product is typically sold before freezing is necessary.

The normal days past production varies by product type.  Here is the overview:

Boneless Boxed Beef:   will arrive to the customer with no more than 35 days since date past production.  Anything in our system that has more days than this will be managed and sold by our Protein CDR group.

Bone-In Boxed Beef:  will arrive to the customer with no more than 28 days since date past production.  Anything in our system that has more days than this will be managed and sold by our Protein CDR group.

Ground Beef:  will arrive to the customer with no more than 15 days past production.  Anything in our system that has more days than this will be managed and sold by our Protein CDR group.
